This makes our 3rd podcast. Wow! We finished a hand-on inquiry- based science kit in which we planted Wisconsin Fast Plant seeds and observed them as they grew. The students learned a lot more details about the plants and flowers than ever before. It was a lot of fun and we learned a lot. Listen to find out the most important thing each student says they learned.

We just started using .

Study Island is a test prep site that allows our 3rd graders to play games with questions that test what they learn this year.  It looks fun and is accessible through the internet at home or school as long as they have their log-in username and password.  It looks really good, and will allows use to better assess how our kids are doing individually.

No Mr. S.’ Tech Club after school this week.  I have a meeting on Wednesday, so I won’t be able to have kids then.  We will pick it up again the first Wednesday of January.

No spelling words this week. The week is too short and hectic to worry fit in a spelling test this week.

Every year the Jasper and Newton County Rotary Club delivers dictionaries to every third grader in the county.  Mr. Cook, our superintendent and Rotarian, delivered a personalized dictionary to everyone in our class.  They has some really neat extras, like the longest word in the English language.  Thanks Rotary Club!
