I finally got the August snack calendar added to our class web site.  You can open this PDF file by clicking here.  I’ll put the September calendar up on the first of the month.

This is the last week of August. We will have homework Monday through Thursday nights. It will typically be a Math Home Link page and free-choice reading for 20 minutes. I will soon send home a letter about an “All About Me” bag. I will send home a paper bag in which they in to put three objects that help them tell about themselves. We’ll then use those 3 objects to create a 5 paragraph “All About Me” essay. It will take us a while, but it will be fun.

I’ll soon have the snack calendar posted on our web site (as soon as I can get it uploaded).

We will have between 5 and 8 spelling words each week. I’ll introduce them at the beginning of the week and we will take a test over them on Friday. The test will also include previous spelling words, so they need to continue to study the words they are having trouble with. When we are done, we will have spelling 203 of the most frequently misspelled words by 3rd graders. You can find these words on the Spelling List Page of this web site, and I will post a link to the spelling words each week.
