- Some sounds are spelled more than one way.
- Words are easier to spell when each part is spelled separately.
- Frequent spelling patterns for long/k/ are c, k, ck, qu, and ch.
The Unit 9 Core Words
are:

There will be a cloze-style pretest and skill pretest. You will see a parent letter come home with an activity involving one of this week’s spelling rules. On Friday, Those who did not ace the pretest will have a spelling test over the words on the cloze pretest. Words missed will go in their Quickword personal spelling dictionary.
