The FFA students at the High School invited us over for their Food For America program.  There they taught us about where our food comes from.  We also learned about farm and food safety.  We got to pet horses, calves, chickens, rabbits, goats, and sheep.  Our favorite was eating yummy layers of edible soil.  Here are some pictures.

I caught two Great Plains Rat Snakes in my garage this fall.  We kept them long enough for my kids to show their classes and me to show mine.  Of course we had to feed them after keeping them that long.  I snapped a few blurry pictures of one snake swallowing a mouse…whole.
