I caught two Great Plains Rat Snakes in my garage this fall. We kept them long enough for my kids to show their classes and me to show mine. Of course we had to feed them after keeping them that long. I snapped a few blurry pictures of one snake swallowing a mouse…whole.

On election day, November 2, we held our own election at school. All the 2nd and 3rd graders voted. It was a great opportunity to practice early doing our patriotic duty…being a resposible citizen of the United States. We filled out registration cards and then voted at the polls pictured here. We had a great time dressing up for Halloween. During our party, we traveled to different classes and played games. When we ate treats and sang the “13 Days of Halloween.” Here are some of our photos.

Curtis’ grandpa, Marv Dahman, spoke to our class earlier this year about the 2 Woolly Mammoth Skeletons discovered in Carl Junction. I included pictures of Marv and the items he brought. I also included pictures of the newspaper article about the find. I recorded the presention and will try to post it as a postcast soon.
