Taking care of a Fiddler Crab

January 13, 2012 on 8:47 am | In Science | No Comments

In sand, fiddler crabs have no problem digging burrows.

We have adopted out all our fidder crabs.  Here are links to sites that I found that tell you how to care for fiddler crabs.  Basically sand and salt water.  We fed them dried plankton.  You can find the supplies you need at a pet store or pet department of a store.

Homemade Instrument photos

May 8, 2009 on 11:00 am | In Sound | No Comments

As a culmination to our Sound kit unit, we made homemade instruments.  I posted more about the project here. Some even played songs on them.  The students really did a great job.  Here are photos of their hard work.

We are finishing our unit on sound.  Our final project is to make an instrument.

I sent home this letter and scoring guide to explain the project.

I also sent these examples of homemade instruments.  This site also has ideas for homemade instruments.

Photos – Plant stages

December 2, 2008 on 11:29 am | In Plants kit | 1 Comment

We watched our Wisconsin Fast Plants grow through all the stages of its life cycle.  Here is some of what we observed.  We also observed the water transport system of a plant by watching blue water change the color of red and pink flowers.  These can be found in our Photo Gallery.
